Nobody likes Mrs Pryce. Meddling, miserable and small-minded, she is the Scrooge of the square where she lives in Bath. Joanna and James must put their feelings on hold and unite to catch the killer before the killer finds them.

Detective Inspector James Carrick has cost Joanna Mackenzie a fulfilling career with the Bath Police Department.
